Obituary for Joyce Rae McKee
Joyce Rae McKee, 82, passed from this life Sunday, June 20, 2021. Graveside services are set for Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 9 a.m. at Childress Cemetery with Dr. Mike Henderson officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home.
Joyce was born February 17, 1939 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Alton Girdner and Lillian Stevenson Girdner. She had seven siblings. Joyce married Bill McKee on November 18, 1955, in Wichita, Kansas. They moved to Childress in 1959 and together they farmed and ranched at Carey, Texas. Joyce was a homemaker and was actively involved in running the farm until she died.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Bill McKee, and daughter Nancy McKee.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Seal, and Sandra Lindauer and husband John; grandchildren Caleb Seal and wife Tiffany, Mark Seal and wife Kira, and Summer Lindauer; great grandchildren Gavin Seal, Payton Seal, Haven Seal, Ethan Seal, Jordan Seal, Jovie Seal, Hadley Seal, and numerous nieces and nephews.
