Obituary for Johnnie Trosper

Johnnie Sue (Havins) Trosper, age 88, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church with Lou Ellerbrook, Pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Committal services will be held on Monday, September 5, 2016 at 9 AM in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. Johnnie Sue was born on August 31, 1927 to John Milton and Lou Emma (Thompson) Havins. She and Claude Earl Trosper married on March 25, 1946 in Weatherford, Texas. She was a housewife and stayed at home until her son, Kerry started to school. She and her sister, Berniece started the women’s athletic program at Kirkland High School with Volleyball. Johnnie Sue loved crafts, and even managed a crafts store in Kerrville. A Christian woman, she was a former member of the South Georgia Church of the Nazarene in Amarillo and then of the First United Methodist Church in Kerrville. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude Earl Trosper; five brothers, Loyd Havins, Carl Havins, Littleton Havins, Milton Havins and Kenneth Havins; and two sisters, Gladys Trosper and Mildred Manuel. Survivors include one son, Kerry Trosper of Sanger, TX; one sister, Berniece Wright of Childress; and numerous nieces and nephews.
