Obituary for Johhnie Burrows
Memorial services for Johnnie Joan Mayer Burrows, 90, will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Childress with Lou Ellerbrook officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
She passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 in Childress.
Johnnie Joan Mayer Burrows was born May 15, 1930 in San Antonio to A.F. “Jack” Mayer and Vera Stone Mayer.
She was a bookkeeper for husband I.W.’s business. She was a seamstress and a quilter and enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint. She loved crossword puzzles and games of any kind. She had a great sense of humor and was very loving. She loved her family very much.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband I.W. Burrows, Jr. and son-in-law Pat Steed.
Survivors include a daughter Jackie Steed of Childress; a daughter Joann Burrows of Aztec, N.M.; grandchildren Chuck Steed and wife, Paige, of Childress; Cynthia Spence and husband, Logan, of Austin; Cara Bergeron and husband, Trevor, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana; Daniel Gibbs and fiancé Melissa Johnson of Farmington, N.M.; and great grandchildren Payton and Ansley Steed, Mason, Audrey, Haddon and Kinley Spence, Madison and Caleb Areteaga, Asher Bergeron, Easten Gibbs and Brice and Brooklyn Johnson.
