John Leslie "Johnny" Sparks, Sr., age 74, of Childress, Texas, died peacefully in his sleep at his home on October, 5, 2013. A memorial service will be held at a later date. John was born on December 31, 1938 , in Estelline, Tx. to J.L. Sparks and Bettie Irene Morris Sparks Pitman. John married Edna Donnalene "Donna" Williams onDecember 7, 1956. John worked as a mechanic. John was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed repairing cars, spending time with his family, and visiting with friends. John is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Donna, and a younger brother Teddy Sparks. John is survived by; Daughter-Johnna Gray and husband Keith of Childress, Tx. Son-John Leslie "Les" Sparks and wife Tricia of Baton Rouge, LA. 2 Grandsons-Michael Clark and wife Beka of Lawton, OK.; Chris Gray and wife Teela of Childress, Tx. Granddaughter- Leslie Ann Sparks of Baton Rouge,LA.; 2 Great granddaughters-Samantha Clark of Lawton, OK.; Kiera Gray of Childress, Tx. Great grandson-Zander Gray of Childress, Tx. Sister-Quetta Mitchell and husband Robby of Lubbock, Tx. 4 Sister-in-laws- Peggy Sparks of Idalou, Tx; Edrena Bucklew of Mayflower, AK.;Molly Poole and Husband Claude of Belen, NM; Lorna Maddox and husband Gordon of Turprin, OK.
