Graveside services for Gilbert Bailey, 79, will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Childress Cemetery with Terry Williams officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
He passed away February 21, 2023 in Childress.
He was born June 17, 1943 in Carey to Wilburn Lewis Bailey and Hallye Mary Wooley Bailey.
Gilbert loved his family and playing with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He enjoyed playing games and fishing and was always active in church, serving as a deacon for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Ronnie Bailey, Cleta Kaison, Larry Bailey, Wanda Meeh and Jerry Don Bailey.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Bailey; his sons Randal Bailey and wife, Kelly, and Greg Bailey; granddaughter, Ashley Fuston and husband, Matthew; great grandchildren Hattie Fuston and Tyler Fuston; sister, Carolyn Bailey; sisters-in-law Lolita Smothermon, Billie Burnett and Carrie White and numerous extended family members.
