Jimmy Shannon Barlow, age 74, passed away on February 13, 2018. Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Chad King, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, February 16 at Johnson Funeral Home. Jimmy was born January 27, 1944 to Bennie Olin Barlow and Myrtle May Barlow. He was raised in CeeVee, Tx and attended Paducah schools. He married Linda Holland on June 25, 1965 in Childress, TX. They raised 3 children and Jimmy farmed and ranched in Childress and Cottle counties until retiring in recent years. He and Linda loved to camp and fish in various Oklahoma lakes. His love for fishing was insatiable. He was also very proud of his Choctaw heritage. Jimmy played guitar from a very young age and also enjoyed restoring antique vehicles and farm implements. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Childress. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, his son Gary, and his favorite cow dogs, Sam and Shorty. He is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter Shannon (Natalie); his son Mark; grandson Carson and his mother, Patrice; his brother Jerry Barlow and wife, Carolyn; his nephews Tyce Barlow, Michael Dietrich and his family, and Jimmy Dietrich. Memorials may be made to the Childress Meals on Wheels or to the Childress Library.
