Jim Ross, age 81, died Wednesday, December 03, 2014 in Childress. Graveside services will be 10:00am on Monday, December 8, 2014 in Quanah Memorial Park with Dr. Mike Henderson, officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home of Childress. Jim was born on July 14, 1933 in Goodlett, TX to Ervin Glenn and Ruby Faye (Myrick) Ross. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Jim was a business owner in Childress since 1960, beginning as an International dealer with Norris Implement and Ross Feed and Seed. After closing that store, he opened Ross Gardens. He was a loving grandfather who enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and living in retirement on the East Texas Coast; but especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin Glen and Ruby Faye Ross. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CRMC Hospice, PO Box 1030, Childress, TX 79201.
