Jerry Dean Williams, age 81, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016 in Hamlin, TX. Graveside services will be held 11:00am, Tuesday, October 4, 2016 in Childress Cemetery with Kerry Wood officiating. Arrangements are being made under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Jerry was born in Childress, TX on March 28, 1935 to Williard E. Williams and Christine Ashby Williams. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He served in the army from 1958 to 1960, in which he then entered into the reserves. His country called him back into service a second time from 1961 to 1962. Jerry loved all animals and especially loved his dog “Sparky”. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Williard and Christine Williams. He is survived by: Sister - Mary Loury of Turkey, TX Niece - Tanya Bolt and husband, Allen of Abilene, TX Great Niece - Courtney Serna and husband Carlos of Abilene, TX Great Great Nephew – Caleb Serna of Abilene, TX Great Nephew – Clayton Bolt of Huntsville, TX In Lieu of flowers, the family asks memorials be made to the Childress Cemetery Beautification Board at 301 4th St. SE, Childress, TX, 79201 or to their favorite charity.
