Janie Mae Nunley, age 97, died Monday, November 12, 2012 in Childress. Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, November 16, 2012 in Calvary Baptist Church with Shane Kendrix and Steven Ball officiating. Janie was born August 30, 1915 in McMinnville, TN to Farris and Jeanie Green. Janie loved her family and friends and always enjoyed visiting with them. She moved to Childress in 1952 from Tennessee. She worked as a waitress for many years until she decided to return to school where she received her licensed vocational nurse license in 1959. Working at hospitals in Childress, Tulia, Paducah and Dallas. She retired from nursing in the 80's after devoting many years to a vocation she truly enjoyed. She was the oldest of seven children. After loosing her parents at an early age, she became responsible for her younger siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Farris Green and Jeanie Cagle Green; brothers, Theo Green, J.R. Green, A.W. Green and Hoyle Green; sister, Ruth Hall; daughter, Barbara Ridell; Grandchild, Shondra Rowland. Survivors include: Daughter - Sue Kindle and husband Berchel, Childress, TX Brother - Noel Green, McMinnville, TN Grand Child - Karen Evans, Canyon, TX Grand Child - Lisa Kirkland and husband Danny, Muscatine, IA Grand Child - Chad Rowland and wife Mary, Amarillo, TX Grand Child - Angela Latta, Albuquerque, NM Grand Child - Thad Goff, Childress, TX Great Grand Child - Adam Great Grand Child - Eric Great Grand Child - Daniel Great Grand Child - Bergan Great Grand Child - Breanna Great Grand Child - Janson Great Great Grand Child - Angela Paige Numerous Nephews & Nieces
