Obituary for James McGruder

On Monday August 19, 2019 James Eugene Vaughn McGruder a loving father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend went to be with the Lord at the age of 45.
Services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Paducah, Texas with Rev. Bobby Evans officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah, Texas under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
Family visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home in Childress, Texas.
James was born on September 11, 1974 in Dallas, TX to James and Christine McGruder of Paducah, TX.
At an early age, James accepted Christ at Antioch Baptist Church in Paducah, TX. James graduated high school in 1993 at Paducah High School where he loved playing football, basketball, track and baseball. He was an all-around athlete. His favorite hobby was fishing with his dad, mom, and grandmother which she took him fishing every day when he was a child and one day he said on “Mama Kate Lee you just bring too much stuff just to go fishing”.  He attended college at SPC and then Howard College to play basketball. He later moved to Fort Worth, got his CDL, and became an OTR Truck Driver which was his passion. He traveled many places and loved to call his mother about his adventures over the road, and to talk about Jesus Christ as he traveled. James lived his life to the fullest. He traveled many places and was never a stranger to anyone he came across. He was the life of the party. He made you laugh when you didn’t even feel like smiling. He always kept a smile on his face. The most important thing to him and he loved so dearly was his kids and family.
He is preceded in death by his son, James McGruder, Jr., and grandparents (Margie and Nathaniel Vaughn) and (Gene McGruder) and (Katie Lee Irvin).
He leaves to cherish his loving memories of his ex-wife, Kyna Cosby which they had 4 beautiful children together and he had 6 total: Brielle (Xavier), Tyree and Ja’Davian McGruder of Arlington, TX Brittany Guerra of Dallas TX, Derrick Ramos of Wichita Falls, TX and (1) grandson Xavier Grant III (1) Sister Jobenia McGruder of Arlington TX and (2) brothers James (Rayquelle) McGruder Jr  of Fort Worth, TX and Trey (Hailey)McGruder of Lincoln, NE (2) nephews Kyron(Adrieanna) McGruder, and James McGruder Jr III (1) niece Jada(Jake) Perez (1) great nephew Keshaun Searles (3) great nieces Nyla Searles, Kaelyn and Kahlo McGruder (5) Aunts Ruby Nell(Don) Hurd, Edna Neal, Nodia(Karl)Wright, Debbie Sutton(Leslie) Cynthia(Jim) Garrett (3) uncles Nathaniel(Joyce)Vaughn Lonnie(Gerelene)Hurd, and Don(Ruby) Hurd. He also leaves a great host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
