Obituary for James Anglin

James Anglin went to see his Heavenly Father about 10:00 AM on November 27, 2018 at the age of 87. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Carey Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Wilson, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be held at 2:30 PM in the Groom Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 PM on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home. James was born on April 29, 1931 in Annona, Red River County, Texas to David Lee Anglin and Edna May Wyant. James married Maxine Wade in Joseph A. Hill Memorial Chapel on the West Texas State College campus on January 26, 1957. They were married for 61 wonderful years. ?? He went into the Army in 1947 and served 6 yrs on active duty in Germany, Morocco, Algeria, and several stateside assignments. He attended Hardin Simmons University and went to West Texas State, graduating with a BS and MED. He received his PHD from the University of North Texas. He taught and coached in Lakeview, Dalhart, Dumas, Canadian, Friona, Miami, Claude and Childress. James also taught as an adjunct professor for Clarendon College, teaching math, history, and government and served as the regional coordinator for Clarendon College for several years. ?? He was preceded in death by his parents David Anglin and May Kidwell, sister, Dorsie Bolar, sister Janie Jean, and his loving wife Maxine. ??He is survived by his brothers, Floyd Anglin, Jerry and Tommie Anglin; children, LTC Wade and Kelly Anglin, Quanna Anglin and Randy Algoe, and Col Travis and Robin Anglin; grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, Sarah, Alissa, Natalie and Max; and many extended family and friends.??
