Obituary for Jackie S. Taylor
Funeral services for Jackie S. Taylor, 70, will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Craig Darter officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home.
She passed away February 11, 2022 in Childress.
Jackie Sue Mills was born May 18, 1951 in Childress to J.D. “Slick” and Cecil Wiliamson Mills. She was raised in Childress and graduated Childress High School in 1969. She spent her career with the Childress County Justice of the Peace first serving as the office’s secretary before being elected Justice of the Peace. She retired in 2014. She loved her granddaughter Kassidy, who was her world, and loved to follow her in all of her sports, school and cheerleading endeavors. She was a huge George Strait fan, her favorite color was red and she loved her dog, “Heidi.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Anne Detwiler, a niece, Missy Detwiler, and a nephew Kelsey Robertson.
Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Taylor; her granddaughter, Kassidy Taylor; a sister, Janie Robertson and husband, Tommy; three nephews, Chad Detwiler and wife, Larissa, Dusty Robertson and wife, Nora, and Joey Robertson and wife, Casey and special friend, Johnny Lemons.
