After graduating from Irvin High School in El Paso in 1965, Jack fulfilled his dream of joining the United States Marine Corp. He went to Vietnam on his first assignment. He had many great memories of visiting his grandparents and family in Childress and always wanted to be a farmer. He eventually sold his home and business in El Paso and moved to Childress. He loved his dogs, spending time on his farm and tending to his cattle. Jack was a devout Christian and loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and loved studying the Bible.
