Imogene Pannell Murray, age 78, died Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in Amarillo. Services will be at First United Methodist Church of Childress on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10:00 am with Rev. George Price officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Imogene Pannell Murray was born on December 4, 1933 to Eddie and Gladys Pannell in Mobeetie, TX. Imogene was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church and the Hughes Sunday School class. For 34 years, she worked for Childress ISD. Imogene enjoyed her bridge club, and was very active in the Women's Golf Association. Golf was so dear to her, she helped to start the Jr. Golf Association. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, George William "Bill" Murray; and a sister, Dortha Calcote.
