Ida Vera Johnson, age 84, died Saturday, November 16, 2013 in Childress. Services will be at 12:00 PM Saturday, November 23, 2013 in Fairview Church of Christ with Bro. Doc Smith and Bro. Frankie Lemmons officiating . Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, November 22, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Ida was born Monday, November 11, 1929 in Henderson, TX to Samp and Vera Burist. Ida was a homemaker who loved to make handmade quilts, baking and cooking, and acapella music. She loved kids, and was well liked by the community that she loved and supported. She enjoyed spending time with and visiting with her many friends. I Ida was a member of the Fairview Church of Christ. Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Felix Johnson; her parents, Samp Burist, Sr. and Vera (Baysinger) Burist; three brothers, Equilla Burist, Melvin Burist and Samp Burist; one sister, Mae Henderson; and a grandson, Travis Johnson, Jr. Memorials may be made to the Tipton Boys Home, P.O.
