Obituary for Herbert Reavis

Graveside services for Herbert Reavis will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, August 22, 2013 with Kerry Wood officiating. Burial will be in the Childress Cemetery. Herbert Reavis was born on January 14, 1933 in Clarendon to Hollis and Allie Morris Reavis. Herb was married to former Mary Harper Overbey for 32 years. He attended Childress High and played football with the District champs in 1950. In Track and field he was 1951 District Champion in shot put. He then attended Midwestern University on a football scholarship. He retired as operations and engineering superintendent for Lubbock Power and Light. Herb was a member of South Park Baptist Church, Southwest Rotary Club and Red Raider Club while residing in Lubbock. He was preceded in death by his parents, H.H. and Allie Reavis; and sister, Beth Reavis. He is survived by: Wife-Mary of home son, Herb Morris of Jacksonville, Florida, Sister:Mary Lynn Almand of Grand Prairie; two step sons; and nephew, Ron Cason
