Helen Lucille Turk, age 93 of Childress, died Monday, October 20, 2014. Funeral services will be at 1 PM on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Calvary Baptist Church with Steven Ball, Pastor, and Tommy Sims, officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 22, from 6-8 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Lucille was born on June 4, 1921 in Red River County, TX to Walter F. and Pearlie M. (Hall) Pratt, and grew up in East Texas. She married Tracy Turk in 1937 and they lived in East Texas and the Texas Panhandle before moving to Childress in 1950. He preceded her in death in 1997. Lucille worked at Perry Bros. Five & Dime Variety Store and the Childress Clothing Factory. She then leased and managed the Dairy Mart Drive-In until her retirement in 1990, and then later worked at Wal Mart as a clerk. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tracy Turk; granddaughter Deborah Renea; and her eldest son, Delbert. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 1606 Ave I NW, Childress, TX 79201. Survivors include a son, Jerry and wife, Dana, of Amarillo; daughter-in-law, Joy Turk; granddaughter, Leigh Ann Moore and husband, Darrell, and sons Derek, Jonathan and Trevor; two grandsons, Tony and wife, Caroline, and Stefan and wife, Becky, and daughters Macy and London; step-grandchildren, Scot Hrbacek and wife, Jill, and their children Abigail, Wilson and Zachary; Shel Abel and her children Lindsay, Nathan and Andrea; and Doug Hrbacek and wife Tara, and son Jake.
