Helen Sartin Pennell, age 96, was received into the arms of her Heavenly Father, Sunday, September 16, 2012 in Childress. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 18, 2012 in Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Shoffner officiating . Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Helen was born October 7, 1915 in Childress, to Jess and Etta Mae Holden Sartin. Helen was a life long resident of Childress. On June 27, 1937, Helen married Harry H. (Mike) Pennell. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother. Helen was a Baptist. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry (Mike) Pennell Jr., one brother, J. B. Sartin, and sister, Dorothy Thomas. Words cannot express our gratitude to all the wonderful nurses, caretakers, and doctors who cared for Helen these past three years.Thanks to everyone who visited her, prepared meals, and cared for her in our absence.
