Helen Irene Dodgen, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Childress Church of Christ with Mr. Trey Morgan, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home. Helen was born on November 7, 1932 in Childress to Earl Darius and Lois Irene (Stringer) Swain. She was a very caring woman, having cared for her husband, John, when he got sick. In her early years, she loved going to the lake. She also enjoyed traveling with Kathryn, sewing, crocheting, and watching sports on TV. Helen was a longtime member of the Childress Church of Christ. She was a former member of the Lions Club and the Rural Mail Carrier’s Association. Above all else, she was devoted and loving to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John Dodgen and son, Mike Donathan. She is survived by; Daughters, Jo Ann DelBosque of Waco, Texas., Mary Craig and husband Michael of Crandall, Texas, Step-Daughter, Kathryn Morton and husband Steve of Ponca City, Ok., Daughter-in-law, Delia Donathan of Childress, Texas, Sister,LaVerne Caradine of Ft.
