Hazel Miller Dorman, age 94 and formerly of Childress, passed away on May 29, 2018 in Old Hickory, Tennessee. Graveside services will be at 10 AM on Saturday, June 2, 2018 in Childress Cemetery with Rev. Chad King officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home in Childress. Hazel was born on March 11, 1924 in Childress, Texas to Frank and Inus (Young) Miller. At the age of 13 she played lap steel for dances with her father Frank Miller in and around Childress, Texas. She married the love of her life, Bruce A. Dorman, and they spent 66 1/2 years together in love and laughter. She was a Christian woman who loved the Lord, and the family feels very thankful and blessed that she was a stay-at-home mother who raised her two sons. She was also an accomplished artist. As a poet, some of her writings that were published include “Do You Take…?” in Distinguished Poets Of America, “Did You Ever” in A Poetic Garden Of Verse, “Love That Yankee” in Celebration Of Life, “Silver Wings” in Forever And A Day, and “Willow In The Wind” in Impressions. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, aunt Bertie, step-father Gene, brother Arlon, sister Lela, and nephew Steve Miller. Survivors include her two sons, Ricky Dorman and spouse, Dawn of Abilene, TX, and Randy Dorman and spouse, Ann of Nashville, TN; sibling, Duane Miller and spouse, Jackie of Albuquerque, New Mexico; four grandchildren, Justin, Shawna, Brandon and Lyndsay; great-grandchildren, Landon, Perrin, Bradley, Malachi, Jonah, LilyAnne Faith, Corey, Noah and Madeline Rose; nieces, Linda and Jerry Sachse, Karen and Robert Elliot, Stacey Roger and husband Shawn, Marlow Miller and husband Jose, Tammy Stohner and husband Rick; nephews, Mark and Dinah DeArmond, Jeff Miller and wife Deann, Gary Miller and wife Christy, Jason Miller and wife Becky; and numerous extended family and friends.
