Obituary for Glenna Sue King
Graveside services for Glenna Sue King, 80, will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Childress Cemetery with Forrest Doshier officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, October 8, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
She passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in Childress.
Glenna Sue King was born January 9, 1941 to Euel and Wilma Jones King. She was a 1959 graduate of Childress High School. She worked as a Deputy Clerk in the Childress County Clerk’s office for 11 years. She treasured her friends and family and made a point to stay in touch with them, even as her health failed. She was an avid reader and stayed up much too late often lost in a book. She also loved puzzles and arts and crafts. She loved keeping a routine, especially her daily drives with special friends Mayland Foard and Zona Prince.
She was preceded in death by her parents along with George Moore, Eddie Moore, Gaynelle Gressett and Darrell Whatley.
Survivors include a daughter Charlotte Doshier and husband, Forrest, of Lubbock; special friends Zona Prince and Michéle and Darren Doty; granddaughter Dara Kidd and husband, Derek; grandson C.J. Whatley and wife, Kamy; sister-in-law Margaret Moore; special friends Mayland and Alma Foard along with numerous cousins and friends.
