George Floyd Walker, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, August 29, 2018.   Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Fairview Church of Christ with Rev. Ronnie Shoffner officiating.  Burial will follow in Tell Methodist Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.   George was born on August 16, 1940 in Childress, Texas to Arley Adolphus and Ruby Vivian Walker.  He was a hard worker who enjoyed caring for his family.  He love his horses and his Dodge truck, The Old Goat.  The memory of all the jokes he would tell that would be so funny will never be forgotten.     George was always willing to help anyone who needed it, no matter if it was work or just giving good advice.  He loved to talk and revisit old times with friends and family.  Above all else, he was a man of faith.   George was preceded in death by his parents, a son Alfred Anthony Walker, one sister and four brothers.   Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Freda Mae Walker; daughter Sanita Walker and husband, James; son Arley Walker; son George F. Walker, II; daughter Jarita Beck and husband, Tommy; daughter Janine Walker, all of Childress; one brother Wayne Walker; one sister Cathy Imhof; seventeen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and several extended family and friends.   Memorial donations may be made to We Can Care, PO Box 7, Childress, TX 79201.
