George Smith, age 84, passed away on July 2, 2016 in Childress. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 23, 2016 in the Childress Church of Christ with Trey Morgan, Pastor, officiating. George was born on June 16, 1932 in Plainview, Texas to Sam and Willie Lee (Wood) Smith. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. George was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Milton Smith. Survivors include a daughter, Anita Smith of Childress; one sister, Lois Taggart of Childress; two grandchildren, Amanda Smith and Michael Smith; two great-grandchildren, Seth Saenz and Brooklyn Saenz; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
