Obituary for Gayleen Howard
Gayleen Howard, 82, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 2 pm at Central Christian Church with Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 6-8 pm at Johnson Funeral Home.
She was born December 2, 1938 in Childress to Charles and Ruby Beierschmitt. In her lifetime she owned and operated Village Market, The Ranch House and the clothing store, Country Cousins as well as ran and operated Coats Grocery, Childress Livestock Auction, Childress Meat Processing and later retired after 20 years with OK Concrete.
She had a love of life and enjoyed her nightly mixed drinks and love of gambling. You could often find her at the Elks Lodge or at Randlett.
She married Robert "Bob" Howard June 27, 1956. He preceded her in death in 1963.
She is survived by her son Clay Howard and wife, Tiffany, and her daughter Bobbi Channell; her brother Frankie Joe Beierschmitt and wife, Linda; her sister Charlene Clouse and husband, Mike; three grandchildren, Sara Chapman, Lesley Munsell and husband, Colby, and Charlie Goff and wife, Briana; seven great-grandchildren, Brianne Brewer, Clayton Chapman, Callahan Munsell, Bradyn Goff, Kiptyn Munsell, Lyllie Goff and Cavington Munsell and special friend, Ted Shelton.
