Obituary for Frank Vaughan

Frank Vaughan, age 90, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 in Fenton, Missouri. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 beginning at 9 AM in the First Baptist Church Chapel with funeral services immediately following at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Frank was born on May 16, 1926 in Childress to William Wesley and Lillie Faye (Turner) Vaughan. He married Jessie Faye Loven in April of 1943 in Childress. He worked with the railroad for over 40 years, beginning with the Fort Worth & Denver and continued working through many names, ending with BNSF. He worked in various positions during his time with them, from checking cars for stowaways to building furniture for the passenger cars. He loved to fish, play cards and dominoes, and traveling in his RV. Frank was a member of the Childress Senior Citizens. He was a jokester who loved to make people laugh, and was a loving and caring person who was proud of his family. He served his country in the United States Army. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jessie Faye (Loven) Vaughan, brothers J. Lee Vaughan and Fred Archie Vaughan, sisters Lillie Faye Vaughan and Vera Faye Vaughan, and a great-granddaughter Keisha Nichole Cook. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Bowen of Wylie, TX and Joan Keener of Eureka, MO; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends, especially in the St. Louis area. Memorial donations may be made to the Childress Meals on Wheels.
