Christine Smoot, age 75 passed away on January 6, 2024 in Childress, Texas.

A memorial service will be held on 10:00 am, Saturday, January 13, 2024 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Wilson officiating.

Christine Smoot was born in Plainview, Texas on August 18, 1948 to Floyd and Alma (West) Shugart. She absolutely loved her children and doted on all of her grandkids and great grands. She was quick witted and had a wonderful sense of humor. She love to dance in the kitchen to Bruce Springsteen while cooking. Christine loved to bake and shared her love of baking with her grandkids. She loved track and could out yell and out coach any bystander.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Smoot; brother-in-law, Johnny Brooks; and granddaughter, Elizabeth Kelley.
