Obituary for Edith Proffitt

Funeral services for Edith LaRee Proffitt, 86, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021 at the Childress Church of Christ with Trey Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, November 5, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
She passed away October 25, 2021 in Granbury.
Edith LaRee West was born August 15, 1935 in Farmersville, Texas to Raymond and Irene Kemp West. She was a homemaker who loved taking pictures and cooking for her family. She took a covered dish to those who were ill. She also loved camping and gardening and she did volunteer work at Childress Regional Medical Center. Above all, she loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a great granddaughter Khloe Heaven Dewberry, a sister Lois Moore and a brother R.J. West.
Survivors include two daughters, Connie Proffitt and Jason Bailey and Nancy Proffitt-Neighbors both of Granbury; a son, Danny Proffitt, of Childress; grandchildren Kenneth Neighbors, Kara Van Patten, Jeremy Proffitt, Heather Proffitt, Kayla Neighbors, Cameron Kohler, Myles Kohler and Kason Neighbors; two brothers, Tommy West and Dave West and wife, Faye; 13 great grandchildren with one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews and Princess the dog.
