Obituary for Eddie "Ed" Leary
Eddie J. "Ed" Leary passed away on November 2, 2019. He was born on August 14, 1929 in Northfield, TX to Marvin and Hazel Leary. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Wanda Leary, a brother, Dan Leary and a daughter, Julie Marie Leary. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Childress Elks Lodge.
Ed married Wanda Graham on June 14, 1951. At the time of her passing, they had been married 59 years, 7 months, and 4 days. Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Past Commander of VFW Post #2512 and the American Legion Post #65. He was a member the First United Methodist Church of Childress and was a 58 year member of the Childress Elks Lodge #1113. Ed was active through the years in many civic activities.
Ed is survived by his daughter Susan Leary of Childress, son Marvin Curtis Leary and wife Robin of Portland, TX, grandsons, Hunter Leary, Haden Leary, Robert Leary all of Portland, TX and Michael Leary and wife Heather Leary of Huston, TX.Also, grandson Casey Ray Sims and wife Jolene, great-grandson Tristan Ray Sims and great-granddaughters Riley Sims and Nicole Yarbrough, all of Shamrock, TX, granddaughter, Courtney Sims Woodward and husband Jeremy, great-granddaughters, Cameron Woodward, Collyn Woodward and Carsen Woodward all of Seymour, TX, as well as many beloved relatives and special friends.
