Obituary for Earlene Holloway

Earlene Holloway, age 84, passed away on March 16, 2019. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2019 in Childress Cemetery with Rev. Hank Swanson officiating.  Burial is under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Earlene was born on December 23, 1934 in Savannah, Georgia to Leroy and Emma (Creech) Robertson.  She was raised by Willie and Maggie Jones Sr. She loved arts and crafts and making beautiful things with her hands, including purses and pillows.  She also loved to quilt and putting together puzzles, especially the 1000-piece ones. A kind person, Earlene loved to help others.  She was a great cook, and fixed many dishes for people in the community.  Having been born in Savannah, she loved seafood and could spot frozen seafood from a mile away.  Earlene was a faithful and devoted Christian woman who loved the Lord and loved others. She attended the First Church of God in Christ for many years until her health would not allow her to, but even then continued her tithes and prayers faithfully.  Above all else, Earlene was a faithful and loving supporter of her family. She loved and was loved, and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Earlene was preceded in death by her parents, and by several brothers and sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Earnie Mae Anderson of Childress; her brother, Willie Jones of Childress; three grandchildren, Angela O’Bryant (Marvin) of Dallas, Darla Anderson of Childress, and Miranda Stallings (Byron) of Ft. Worth;  two great-grandchildren, Jonathan Anderson and Maegan Anderson of Ft. Worth; special friends, G.M. and Sue Joiner and family of Glenwood, GA; and numerous extended family and friends.
