Obituary for Dwight Bowen
Memorial services for Dwight Bowen, 73, will be held Saturday, May 27, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Wellington. Arrangements are under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
He passed away May 23, 2023 in Wellington.
Dwight was born July 13, 1949 in Wellington to King Bowen and Iris Mozelle Graham Bowen.
He enjoyed life to the fullest and had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Wellington since 1962 and a member of the Adult 3 Sunday School Class. He was also the “fix it” man at the church. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling and loved to give everyone he met a hard time. He loved to tell jokes. He was a board member of the Collingsworth Home Delivered Meals and was chairman of the properties committee and budget and finance at First Baptist Church. He also helped serve kids’ meals on Wednesdays.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Sandra Kay “Sue” and two brothers, Graham Bowen and Jerry Bowen.
Survivors include his daughters, Rhonda Cochran and husband, Scott, and Dee Dee Needham and husband, Craig; a son, Benny Ronald Heisler; grandchildren, Tegan Cox, Nathan and Bri Cochran, Carson and Taylor Hall, Andi Needham and Clarence, Eric and Kacee Needham and Ben Heisler; 13 great grandchildren; siblings Wanda Kresch and Rick and Keith and Carolyn Bowen; sisters-in-law Barbara Bowen and Kathy Bowen and numerous other family members and friends.
