Obituary for Dwayne McKee

Funeral services for Dwayne McKee, 83, will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Joe E. Jones Memorial Chapel in Childress Cemetery with Paul Harris and Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Johnson Funeral Home.
He passed away December 15, 2022 in Amarillo.
Dewayne Farmer McKee was born December 29, 1938 in Carey to Oliver and Martha Lou Farmer McKee. He was a 1957 graduate of Carey High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1960-64. He married Mary Lou Harris April 23, 1966 in Carey. He was a lifetime member of Carey Baptist serving as a deacon, the church treasurer and Sunday school teacher for many years. He also handled grounds maintenance at the church. He coached Little League and spent 38 years working for the United States Postal Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Lou, a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Joyce McKee and a brother-in-law, Larry Pierce.
Survivors include two sons: Jeff McKee and wife, Belinda, and Barry McKee; five grandchildren, Chiles Spencer, Solon McKee, Tanner McKee, Joseph McKee and Daryn McKee; a sister, Beth Pierce and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Jennings and husband, Jim, along with numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
