Douglas Edward Jones, age 60 of Childress, passed away on March 2, 2016 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 5, 2016 in Trinity Fellowship Church with Ronnie Shoffner, Pastor, officiating. Doug was born on October 19, 1955 in Childress to Donald and Edna (Gepner) Jones. He worked for the cities of Childress, Clarendon, Iowa Park and Burkburnett over the course of 10 years, and National Farms in Texline for two years. He spent 15 years working for the Post Office in Childress and Amarillo. Doug loved playing guitar and played in the James Adams Band for many years. He loved to fish and watch westerns, and his best times were at the coffee shop with family and friends. He loved children and spending time with kids, regardless of whether they were his own or not. He was a loving father and grandfather.
