Dortha Irene Howard, age 88, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016. Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Don McFarland officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Dortha was born on May 20, 1928 in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma to Frank and Martha Bishop. She was known as “Ma” to everyone, and was a loving wife and a wonderful person. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Dan Howard of Childress; sisters Pat, Ann and Joyce; one daughter, Linda Vett of Vernon: one brother, James Bishop; and several grandchildren.
