Doris Ruth Helms, age 84, died Monday, October 8, 2012 in Pampa. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 13, 2012 in Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Ball officiating . Burial will be in Tell Methodist Cemetery. Doris Ruth was born October 5, 1928 in Tell, Texas to Laymon and Vera Groseclose Hightower. She was a graduate of Estelline High School. Since the early 1970's, she owned and operated restaurants in both Childress and Memphis. Her first love and most important was her family. She adored her twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.. She touched so many with her generosity and caring love and was always sure to help with a warm coat or a nourishing meal. Forever to be missed will be her undying love and concern for her fellowman. She is preceded in death by her husband, W.E. Helms, and five brothers, Bud, Michie, Babe, Dan, and Ricky.
