Obituary for Gaye Olay

Funeral services for Gaye Olay, 61, will be held Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church with Terry Williams and Dr. Mike Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home.

She passed away October 21, 2023 in Childress.

Donna Gaylene Williams was born on March 21, 1962 in Amarillo to Ray Don and Zeta Williams. She graduated from Childress High School and attended Clarendon College and Paris Junior College. She served as a nurse for over 30 years. She started dating her longtime friend and coworker Dr. Honorato Olay in 2012. He absolutely adored her. After a lengthy courtship, they married on March 19, 2016. They spent many years traveling and exploring several destinations and countries. She loved shopping, decorating for the holidays and spending time with her family and friends. She selflessly dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Billy Ray Williams and Gaylon Williams and one of her best friends, Michelle Sparkman.

Survivors include her husband, Honorato Olay; her children, Sarah Rodriguez and husband, David, of Childress and Kyle Longbine and wife, Nikki, of Childress; stepchildren, Michael Olay and wife, Sabrina, of Edmond, Okla. and Debbie Olay of Flower Mound, Texas; grandchildren Miriam Rodriguez, Kylee Longbine, Kendalyn Longbine and husband, Justin Hassell, Kaydence Longbine, Jonathan Olay, Lauren Olay, Caitlynn Longbine, Jacelynn Longbine, and Ridge Longbine; great grandchildren Breck Longbine, Jayton Hassell and Asher James Longbine; her unbiological sister Jimi Hudson and husband, David, of Amarillo and her absolute best friend, Jessica Mobbs and husband, Jon, of Dallas. She also served as Momma G to countless other friends that she loved and considered her own.
