Dickie Bruce Nations, age 65, passed away on March 16, 2018 in Childress, TX. Services well be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Parkview Baptist Church with Pastor Don McFarland officiating and Otis Medley assisting. Burial will immediately follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will held from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Monday, March 19, 2018 at Johnson Funeral Home. Dickie was born in Childress, TX on October 24, 1952 to Garland Nations and Mary Patridge Nations. He was a dental technician for over 40 years and he eventually owned and operated Nation’s Dental Lab in Erick, OK. He was affectionately named “Papa Grouchy” by his grandkids. Dickie enjoyed playing his steel guitar. Preceding him in death are his parents, Garland and Mary Nations and his brother, Danny Nations. He is survived by: Daughter – Shonda Jones and husband, Steven of Childress, TX Daughter – Cindy Simmons of Quanah, TX Daughter – Shelly Nations of Quanah, TX Daughter – Cealy Nations of Childress, TX Sister – Salinda Medley and husband, Otis of Florence, CO Grandson – Steven Jones and wife, Teal of Amarillo, TX Grandson – Skyler Jones of Childress, TX Grandson – Stanton Jones of Childress, TX Granddaughter – Cerenity Simmons of Archer City, TX Granddaughter – Charley Simmons of Quanah, TX Granddaughter – Kayla Fry of Quanah, TX Grandson – Nathan Fry of Quanah, TX Grandson – Kanye Hughes of Childress, TX Great Great Grandson – Cohen Jones of Amarillo, TX Great Great Grandson – Colter Jones of Amarillo, TX Great Great Grandson – Caylor Jones of Amarillo, TX Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
