Obituary for Delbert Love
Graveside services for Delbert Love, 67, will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Childress Cemetery with Ronnie Shoffner officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
He passed away October 14, 2023 in Childress.
He was born May 2, 1956 in Childress to Earnest Love and Betty Royall Love.
Delbert could fix anything except a broken heart and couldn't crack an egg to save his life. He could operate any type of heavy equipment. He has a favorite pair of slider sandals that he has had for 20 years and with a lot of repairs and super glue they are still used today. He loved camping and fishing and catered many BBQs. He made the best bbq sauce and homemade salsa. He loved playing jokes on people. A couple of his favorite sayings were "If it ain't broke don't fix it" and "You get what you get and you don't throw a fit.” He was always a phone call away and always gave the best advice. Above all, he was an amazing husband, dad and pop. Special thanks to Dr. Pratt, CRMC Hospice Staff and Childress EMS.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Lynn.
Survivors include his wife, Lace Love; his children, Sage Seal and husband, Colby, Vanesa Pipes and husband, Clayton, and Jenica Hightower and husband, Cory; adopted daughter, Linda Johnson; grandchildren Cord Seal, Cree Seal, Meadow Pipes who is on the way, Cash Hightower and Brody Hightower; siblings Bobby Love and wife, Mary, Mary Joyce and husband, Chad and Becky Ruth Love as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family suggests memorials to Childress Regional Medical Center Hospice.
