Obituary for Deborah McKeever Fisher

Deborah “Debbie” (McKeever) Fisher, age 74, loving mother to Shada Dixon and a wonderful wife to Don Fisher, passed away on March 4, 2022 after a courageous battle with dementia. Graveside services will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Childress Cemetery with Pastor Derrell Monday of First Christian Church of Quanah, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation/viewing will be held Monday, March 7, 2022 from 9-11 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
Debbie was born on April 27, 1947, to Leroy and Henrietta Isham. She grew up surrounded by her large family which included one sister and four brothers in Dallas, Texas. She married Robert McKeever in 1982 and they moved to Childress, Texas in ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬1984, where she worked for the Childress ISD’s cafeteria for 29 years. She absolutely loved her friends/co-workers and the kids she served. She was quite the prankster and they all shared so much laughter together over the years. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Her husband, Robert, preceded her in death in 2000. She became a Grammy in 2007, to her granddaughter Jorja Martinez, whom she loved beyond measure. She married Don Fisher of Quanah, Texas in 2011. In her free time she loved gardening and rearranging furniture. You could often find her outside gardening in the middle of the night.
Debbie was proceeded in death by her parents, Leroy and Henrietta Isham, two sisters, Barbara Isham and Mary Prine, three brothers, Danny Isham, Jimmy Isham, Bobby Isham. Debbie is survived by her wonderful husband, Don Fisher, loving daughter and son-in-law, Shada Dixon and David Ahlstrom, and her precious granddaughter, Jorja Martinez.
