Obituary for Ray Wyatt

Darrell Ray Wyatt (Gramps), age 92, passed away on January 26, 2024 in Newcastle, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Childress, Texas on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Bishop Kevin Keys officiating.

Burial will follow at Childress Cemetery on Saturday, February 10, 2024.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 6- 8 pm at Johnson Funeral Home in Childress, Texas.

Ray was born on October 27, 1931 in Amarillo, Texas to James Otis Wyatt and his wife Verna Blanche (Garrett).

Ray married the love of his life, Betty Joan Jarrell, on January 17, 1953. They were married for 71 years. He served his country in the United States Army from February 16, 1954 to Feb 11, 1956. He served in Germany for 1 year, 2 months, and 13 days. Ray enjoyed farming, raising cattle and riding horses. He also enjoyed gardening and loved his family. He was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served faithfully in many callings.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents; J.O. Wyatt and Verna Blanche (Garrett); sister, Betty Laverne Wyatt, brother, Billy Joe Wyatt; brother, Jamed Otis Wyatt Jr.; and nephew Ronald Wayne Wyatt.

He is survived by:
