Obituary for Darla Lance Jones
Graveside services for Darla Lance Jones, 60, will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Joe E. Jones Memorial Chapel at Childress Cemetery with Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022.
She passed away February 2, 2022 in Oklahoma City.
Darla Louann Lance was born March 7, 1961 in Quanah to Sammy Joe Lance and Carolyn Brown Lance.
She loved her grandchildren and loved to play Bingo. She also loved her pets and enjoyed being comfortable. She also enjoyed church programming on the radio on Sunday mornings. She loved life and put others before herself. She was especially fond of Rice Crispy Treats and enjoyed Hedley football games with granddaughter Savannah cheering and being a homecoming queen nominee. One of her favorite things was taking the grandchildren to The Plaza or El Sombrero to eat.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Jones and her father, Sammy Lance.
Survivors include her son, Eric Jones, of Childress; her daughter, Margaret Trent, and husband, Johnny, of Memphis; grandchildren Savannah, Sadie and Walker Trent of Memphis; her mother, Carolyn Lance of Childress; two sisters, Delia Donathan and Linda McClain both of Childress; two brothers, Mike Lance and Dakota Lance both of Childress and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
