Church Service for Danny T. Gillem, 60, of Childress, will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at the First Baptist Church with Norman Rushing officiating. Interment will follow at Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Gillem passed from this life on April 15, 2024 in Childress.

Danny was born on December 18, 1963 in Childress to Joe Allen Gillem and Ellen Harriet (Trent) Gillem. He worked for Texas Department of Criminal Justice for 10 years before attending Law Enforcement Academy. In 2004 he became Chief Deputy of Childress County. In 2022 he was appointed Sheriff. He retired from Law Enforcement in 2023. Danny enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing. His greatest accomplishment was being a grandpa. He loved to spoil his grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife; Kristi Gillem, children; Tanner Gillem and wife Courtney, Tristan Thomas and husband Lane, Katy Timmons, Kolton Harris and wife Ashley, Conor Cope and wife Reina, nine grandchildren; Jett Brendle, Brooklyn, Hailey, and Remy Thomas, Cutter and Raegan Beavers, Clara and Samuel Harris, and Cohen Cope, his mother; Ellen Gillem, and his brother; Mike Gillem and wife Karen.

He is preceded in death by his father; Joe "Jaybird" Allen Gillem.
