Eddie was born on December 12, 1925 in the house where she was raised in Childress to H.T. and Lillian Elizabeth (Cadle) Owen.  She and Sam Lewellen were married on October 31, 1942 in Hollis, Oklahoma with their best friends Lela and Walter DeArmond by their side. They always had a long running joke about which one was the treat and which one was the trick since they were married on Halloween. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 17, 1982. A devout Christian woman, she taught her children Christian values and morals. She spread the word and love of the Lord through her work in World Missions, even traveling to the Philippines.  She had a remarkably beautiful voice who loved to sing throughout her day, and was once mistaken for Esther Williams because of her beauty.  She had a smile for everyone, was an enchanted bedtime storyteller, was proud of her outstanding dive and had a vibrant, green thumb as evidenced by her beautiful garden. Every day you could find her going for "Sunday drive, she loved visiting with nieces and nephews, and had a great love for playing in the sandbox with her grandchildren while also providing them tricycles to pedal up & down her long shady driveway.   Eddie loved to be with people and it was often rumored she was the life of the party. She was a former PTA President, member of the Childress Women’s League, was a former member of a bowling league in Childress and even had a neighborhood coffee club. When the new hospital opened in 1970, Eddie took a lot of pride in doing a great job as their first X-ray technician. She enjoyed helping others. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers Horace Owen, J.D. Owen and Holman G. Owen, and two babies, John Michael Lewellen and Baby Girl Lewellen both lost to stillbirth. Survivors include two daughters, Danna Lee Gustafson of Oregon, and Kathy Elizabeth Lewellen-Seal and husband, Dennis Seal of Plano; one son, Timothy Madison Lewellen, II and wife, Tina of Stephenville; one brother, Robert Michael Owen, Sr. of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Lori Gustafson, Davina DeAelfeald, Tyler Lewellen and wife, Samantha, Tara Hanks and husband, Kevin, Colton Seal and significant other, Nikki Riccoboni, Samantha Seal and Sadie Seal; five beautiful, great-grandchildren, Westin and Grayson Hanks, McKinna, Madelyn and Mia Lewellen; and many loved extended family and friends.
