Obituary for Dan Greer

Dan Earl Greer, 75, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2017 in Wichita Falls. Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Childress Cemetery with Kerry Wood officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday, August 4, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. He was born February 10, 1942 to Joe and Ruth Cowley Greer in Childress. He and Ricki Turner were married September 15, 1962 at First Baptist Church of Childress. He was a member of the same church where he was a deacon and a member of the choir. He loved to go camping and fishing, loved to hunt and loved to travel, especially to Branson, Missouri. He was a loving father, grandfather and husband. He loved to talk. He worked for the railroad for seven years and then for Childress Independent School District for 23 years where he retired as maintenance supervisor. He was also a member of the car club in Childress. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Survivors include his wife, Ricki, of Wichita Falls; two sons, Jimmy Dan Greer of Wichita Falls and Joe Greer and wife, Landie, of Midland and five grandchildren, Skyler Greer of Childress, Seth Greer of Canyon, Maison Greer and Grayson Greer of Midland and Kassidy Greer of Childress.
