Coy L. Albritton, age 83, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 in Childress. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, June 27, 2016 in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Mike Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery with Tommy Sims officiating under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Coy was born on June 4, 1933 in Childress to Chester and Wilma Florence (Berrier) Albritton. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He started out his military service in the 634th Armored Infantry Division, then tested and transferred out to the 82nd Armored Division Hell on Wheels to be a motor mechanic. Coy married Jayne Lipinski on June 15, 2000 in Childress. A hard worker, he retired from TXDOT as a warehouse manager after over 30 years with them. Coy owned and operated Childress Insulation since 1974. He loved to feed his doves, yard work, inventing, creating and engineering gadgets as well as many other hobbies. He was a problem solver, loved being in a car and drag racing, and took pleasure in helping others when he could. Coy was a past member of the Childress Elks Lodge and the Childress Volunteer Fire Department, and was a member of the American Legion. Coy was preceded in death by his parents.
