Obituary for Clorine Clayton

Clorine Marie Clayton, age 93 of Childress, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016. Graveside services will be held on 1 PM on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Amherst, Texas with Richard Griffin officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 PM on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home. Clorine was born on November 28, 1922 in Plainview, Texas to Herman H. and Willie (Winton) Robinson. She married the love of her life, Raymond Clayton, on July 15, 1954. Clorine worked as an LVN for may years in West Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Beverly Clayton, brothers Herman Robinson and Oscar Lee “Red” Robinson, sister Elouise Gifford, grandsons Donald Lee Adams and Lowrey Pearson, and great-great-granddaughter Baylee King. Survivors include her children, Thurman Lee Adams and wife, Rhonda of Weatherford, daughter Marie Colvin of Childress, daughter Janice King and husband, David of Childress, daughter Tommie Ray-Garcia of Pampa, son James Ray Clayton of Amarillo; brothers Leon Robinson of Amherst and Owen Robinson of New Mexico; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
