Cheryl Elaine Beck was born May 13, 1952 in Dumas to David Jonathon Beck and Willie Maxine Jones Beck. She graduated from Dumas High School in 1970 and married Robert Grimes July 10, 1971 in Dumas. She worked for West Texas Utilities for 24 years and later as a church secretary at First Baptist Church for numerous years. She was very active as a member of the church as well where she taught Sunday School. She also loved to sing and was a member of the church choir and the handbell group. She also loved to cook but she loved being a grandma more than anything. She loved Christmas and she tolerated Robert’s camping trips.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Winn, a brother, Dane Beck, and a brother-in-law, Wess Ferris.
Survivors include her husband, Robert; a daughter, Deidra Winn and husband, Scott; two grandsons, Blaine Winn and Jack Winn; two sisters, Denise Swain and husband, Allen and Pam Ferris; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Beck and a brother-in-law, David Grimes and wife, Susan.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Baxter Callaway Scholarship Fund at First Baptist Church of Childress.
