Obituary for Carolyn Lance
Funeral services for Carolyn Lance, 78, will be held Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 2 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.
She passed away October 23, 2022 in Lubbock.
Carolyn was born March 6, 1944 in Hardeman County to William Augustus Brown and Margaret Missouri Finch Brown.
She loved babies and fostered over 100 children. She loved to read and loved her wiener dogs, watching soaps, the Astros and Rangers, and the Dallas Cowboys. Her house was the hub for family get togethers. She never lived a day alone and always had family with her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sammy Lance, her daughter, Darla Jones, three sisters and seven brothers.
Survivors include daughters Linda McClain and Delia Donathan; sons Michael Lance and Dakota Lance; a sister, Jean Worley along with 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to CASA of the Rolling Plains, 2020 Country Club Drive, Childress, Texas, 79201.
