Obituary for Carlin Williams

A Memorial for Carlin Williams, 62 will be held Saturday, May 28 at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Estelline. Let’s remember the good times
Carlin Edward Williams was born August 17, 1959 in Lampasas, Texas. He resided in Estelline, Texas since the mid 1980s. He passed from this life on May 17, 2022.
Carlin was a Cowboy through and through. Out of all the places in Texas, he chose Estelline and found a home in the Old White House by the arena. That is where he met his lifelong partner, Pearlie Williams. Together, they enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, tending to livestock, playing jokes on one another and laughs that will last a lifetime. They were the epitome of a country couple.
But what he was, and what he knew best, was being a cowboy and that is where his roots grew and connected to ranchers, cowboys and their families. Those relationships lasted because of mutual trust and respect, he was the one they counted on for his knowledge and leadership, he worked hard and always gave it his all, he loved to rope and choke wild stock and build the toughest fence anyone ever saw. And at the end of the day there was always a big meal, great stories and laughs that made your tummy roll.
When Carlin wasn’t cowboyn’, he enjoyed the quietness, beauty and simplicity that the country life offered, he took those moments he experienced horseback, fishing, hunting, camping by a lake and traveling and shared them in his poetry and stories. He did not live in the past, nor towards the future, he was always present in the moment. He did not seek wealth nor possessions, he loved to give the things he made, grew and mostly his time to the ones he called friends. His loved ones will miss him but will know that he has gone on to the best adventure of all, until we see you again friend.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Edward Williams, maternal grandparents Gertie Mae and Thomas Carlin Gaines, paternal grandparents Marie and Edward Williams.
Survivors include his partner, Pearlie Williams, his mother Carolyn Evonne Gaines Williams Hutson, brother Larry Don Williams and wife, Debbie, sister Charlotte Evonne Woods and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
