Obituary for Candelaria G. Villarreal

Funeral services for Candelaria G. Villarreal, 86, will be held Friday, October 30, 2020 at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father Roy Kafula officiating. Burial will follow in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. A rosary will be held Thursday, October 29, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel.
She passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 in Childress.
Candelaria G. Villarreal was born February 3, 1934 in Seargent, Texas to Ezekiel Gonzalez and Rita Reyes Gonzalez.
She loved dogs, cats and plants and was an amazing seamstress. She made both casual and dress clothing for her family. She did not need patterns to create her clothing. She ironed clothing for the community. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. She also made tamales with venison and pork. She loved to travel and would make a trip to the valley to visit family. She had a great sense of humor and loved to joke with people. She loved her grandchildren, especially the younger kids. Every time she saw them, she would have lots of hugs and kisses. She loved to spend endless hours at the casino with family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Guadalupe Villarreal Sr., a son David Villarreal, a daughter Delfina Chadwick and six brothers and a sister.
Survivors include a daughter, Gracie Sanchez and husband, Ruben of Shallowater; a son Daniel Villarreal and wife, Betty, of Lubbock; a daughter Delia Thomas and husband, Randy, of Wellington; a son Lupe Villarreal and wife, Alice, of Childress; a daughter Celia Castillo of Lubbock; a daughter Christella Vasquez and husband, Ricky; of Childress; grandchildren Rita Harris, Ruben Sanchez Jr., Louisa Sanchez, Joe Garcia, Jennifer Garcia, Daniel Villarreal Jr., Adrian Villarreal, Amanda Villarreal, Anthony Rodriguez, Michael Cruz Rodriguez, David Villarreal Jr., Angelica Villarreal, Roy Rodriguez Jr., Joseph Rodriguez, Monica Castillo, David Castillo Jr., Adam Castillo, Jeremiah Vasquez, Aeriel Vasquez, Nicholas Vasquez, Cathrine Chadwick, along with numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
