Billy Jim Edwards, 85, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in Childress. No services will be scheduled.
He was born December 14, 1935 in Kiowa County, Oklahoma to William A. Edwards and Berta Ada McClung.
He loved to farm and ranch and was known as Granddaddy Bill. He loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids. He climbed 400 foot towers for extra money. He was a member and was active at First Baptist Church Sunday School and the church. His favorite family time was meals together on the weekends. His favorite was ribeye steaks and fried fish. He spent a lot of time the past four years teaching Ty how to continue the family ranching tradition. His family expresses gratitude to CRMC Hospice and the Cottage Village staff.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alletta Edwards and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include three sons; Kenneth Edwards and wife, Tina, of Childress, Billy Edwards and wife, Rida, of Amarillo and Keith Edwards and wife, Audra, of Baird, Texas; grandchildren Kate Schaefer and husband, Ty; Kaleb Edwards and wife, Rebecca; Kalisha Howard and husband, Jason; Kyle Edwards and wife, Lindsay; Candice Watson and husband, Jared; Chasity McKee and husband, Dallas; John Keith Edwards and Riley Edwards and wife, Katrina; 16 great grandkids; a brother Sydney Edwards and wife, Mertie of Altus, Okla. and a brother Harry Edwards and wife, Ruth, of Hurst, Texas.
